Ledger.com/Start® | Getting Started with Ledger Wallet
Your official starting point for setting up your Ledger hardware wallet securely.
Ledger® is a trusted name in crypto security, offering industry-leading hardware wallets like the Ledger Nano S Plus and Ledger Nano X. These devices allow you to store your cryptocurrencies offline, protecting your assets from hacks and unauthorized access.
After purchasing your Ledger device from the official Ledger store or an authorized reseller, carefully unbox it. Ensure that the packaging is sealed and untampered with. You should find the following items in the box:
Open your browser and type in www.ledger.com/start. This is the official Ledger onboarding page. Avoid clicking on any suspicious links to prevent phishing attacks.
Ledger Live is the official app that allows you to manage your Ledger device, install apps, and manage your crypto assets. Download it directly from Ledger.com/start for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
Note: Never download Ledger Live from third-party websites or app stores.
Connect your Ledger device to your computer or mobile phone. Follow the on-screen instructions on both the device and Ledger Live to initialize your wallet.
Using Ledger Live, install the appropriate apps for the cryptocurrencies you plan to manage (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.). Then, add your crypto accounts to the Ledger Live dashboard.
To receive crypto, generate a receiving address in Ledger Live and verify it on your device. Share this address with the sender. Always double-check the address on your Ledger screen before confirming.
To send crypto, initiate the transaction in Ledger Live, then approve it on your Ledger device.
